Pomp, Exodus, and Relocation

Just prior to leaving Boise we had a dinner at our friends the Huszar's. It is a beautiful place in the mountains above Boise. Since that time they have had their baby. Congrats guys.

Jason Huszar with Olivia getting some practice in preparation for his own, who was about to arrive.

Olivia also got a little Aunt Katie time before the move.

We then headed up to a Bryan and Gretchen Hurlbutt's wedding on the shore of Redfish Lake. It was beautiful. Keeping Austin away from the water while in his dress clothes was exciting.

Then it was up to Seattle for graduation from University of Washington School of Medicine
Here is what the announcement said:

Believe it or not Nathan is now Doctor Welch.

Austin sure loves his little sister.
Allison and Austin at graduation

Allison and the kids stayed in Washington while Nathan and Chaco drove the 26 foot moving truck that was also pulling a flatbead trailer with one of the cars on it. They spent two days on the road and in truck stops, with Luree driving the other car, until they made it to Omaha where Allison and the kids flew in and we closed on our first house.

We love the new house.

Views of our back yard. We have a big bird that frequently visits us. We cannot tell yet if it is a hawk or an eagle. We think it is pretty awesome and hope that it does not eat Chaco. It is much bigger than these pictures suggest.

More of the view from our porch. One thing we love about night time are the beautiful fireflies.
For those of us from the west who have not seen these before they are incredible. We have a meadow behind our house and at dusk the fireflies start up and fill the whole field with darting flashes of light. We tired to film them but it was hard to get them to show up. This video on youtube shows them a little bit, but then imagine standing on the deck looking at a whole field with hundreds of them.

We have had a fun time getting the house together. Here we are putting together Ausitn's new blue bedroom set. He loved helping out.

Olivia and her nails are growing quickly.

One of the cool things about Omaha is their famous zoo.

Allison and Austin at the Omaha Zoo (before the 90-mile-an-hour wind storm hit)

The above picture is in the basement of the Zoo aquarium. We had to go there when the tornado sirens started going off. It was pretty surreal. We went in the basement when it was still nice outside. Heard nothing. Then after 30 minutes we got to go out and huge trees were snapped at their bases, their was huge hail stones on the ground, and the city as a whole had suffered lots of damage. We quickly drove home and were relieved that our house appeared okay.

Here is a toy we got for the basement. Austin loves it and it lets us get more of the house put together while he is jumping

We hope you are all well
The Welches

Congrats on all the new changes for your family. Brian has an uncle that lives in Omaha. Glad to hear that you are enjoying yourselves. Olivia is precious. It's fun to see more pictures of you all!
